solidarity

Inncontro – International Film Festival of Diversity invites you to engage in dialogue
on (post-)migration, flight, and exile—through international feature films and documentaries, as well as discussions that center the perspectives and agency of those who have migrated or have multiple homelands, who have had to or must flee, who experience racism, or who are affected by current facist regimes.
This year’s edition of the Inncontro Film Festival is titled “zusammen.halten” (staying together) and thus focuses on practices of solidarity in times of crisis. Given the complexity of current social developments, individual opportunities for action seem rather limited. In response to the resulting discouragement, this year’s festival program explores which forms of solidarity, as well as collective practices and initiatives, are possible or even necessary today.
In this context, “zusammen.halten” is not intended as a clear-cut set of instructions, but rather as an open and multifaceted concept: as a call to maintain relationships, as a practice of resistance against isolation, as a commitment against attempts to divide society and mechanisms of exclusion. This also raises the question of who is included in these considerations and who is not, under what conditions solidarity arises, where are its limits, and how it manifests in different contexts.
