Sustainability & Global Responsibility: Green Event Tirol

The Inncontro Film Festival will be awarded the Green Event Tirol label for the first time in 2025.

Sustainability for us is not just an environmental goal but a social attitude. As a festival focusing on migration, encounters, and empowerment, we see sustainability as closely tied to issues of global justice, participation, and responsibility: protecting resources also means enabling access for all, questioning inequalities, and acting in solidarity.

That’s why we focus on climate-conscious structures, social justice, and long-term partnerships in organizing the festival:

  • Reusable instead of disposable:
The bar uses glas containers. Regional, fair, and sustainable products are offered, both by Leokino and our this years catering partner il Corvo.

  • Energy saving:
The cinema is powered by green electricity. In Leokino 1, a laser projector reduces energy use by generating less heat.

  • Accessibility:
Leokino is low-barrier during the festival (see Accessibility Info above).

  • Waste reduction:
We implement consistent waste separation and resource-efficient planning.

  • Fair and local production:
Our printed materials are produced locally on certified materials. The program booklet is printed on 100% recycled paper.

  • Sustainable travel and hotel choices for guests:
Our guests travel by train, and we collaborate with local hotels that meet Green Event Tirol standards.

If you’re interested in organizing your own events according to Green Event Tirol standards or want more information, you can find it here.
